Kamchatka. Post 1\ Petropavlovsk

Durring of my life, I've heard, read and seen on Kamchatka. It is a dream for a man who not imagine his life without mountains. Kamchatka is interesting not only for its varied terrain and line of descent, you'll learn here, the mountains, snow conditions in the analysis of various exposures, looking at the slope, make your own unique line.



I'm glad I had the opportunity to visit the Kamchatka , covers my trip to the freeride of the season, and was so memorable. Now tickets to Petropavlovsk availability in sufficient quantity, without a shadow of a doubt, buy a ticket and go.

Very heavy eight-hour flight in an airplane, I advise you all good night's sleep, you need to get used to the new time zone and the first day has not passed in the shuffle. Sunny in the morning I open my eyes in an airplane and see what is not put into words, but do not show on TV. I opened a chain of snow-capped mountains, majestic volcanoes and Avacha bay, so untouched nature, wild and alluring ... this is the Kamchatka region of volcanoes and freeride mecca.


At the airport waiting for luggage in the street (long wait), then you will only run on tickets with the ticket and released, it is commendable safety, but still cold to stand outside. The airport is located in Yelizovo, the nearest town in Petropavlovsk - a small grayish, solid five-story building, and also left their mark on the earthquake in Japan. City-scale construction, concrete reinforcing houses stand, and other possible ways in which people try to protect their lives. Everything they say in the next few years will be equally devastating earthquake, but no one can know for sure, because the nature of life of its own laws, that person does not know.

 Letting go away all sad thoughts and reflections on the fate of the world, I focused on the mountain. Changing the height of 300-400 meters above sea level (Avacha Bay) to the top of the hill targets. Top of the hill is the highest point of the city. It offers a panoramic view of the city, Avacha Bay Avachinsky and Koryak volcanoes. The city and nearby there are several ski bases "Frosty", "Red Volcano," "Edelweiss," "Extreme", "Bricks," "Central". But in addition there are a lot of wild hills, which, of course, is revered snowmobiles, but it only makes it easy to raise, and the most juicy place for skiers and snowboarders. In an hour you can climb about 300 meters, and can be down and through the woods and open meadows, and even in the spring, as well as a variety of rocks and stones to open.




So, the first day we Vanya Malakhov, who spent a week in Kamchatka and looked around, climbed the hill near the site of our stay in Petropavlovsk (for the warm welcome and interesting stories on the Kamchatka Peninsula through Vecheslavu Sokolovsky, sea kayakers, tour guide and just a wonderful person .) So, we walked for about an hour, looking for ways of entertainment. Climb to the top, from coast to coast, has opened its beauty Avacha bay. There is a desire to roll down and fall into the arms of the ocean. We found a small inflection of the slope and made a spot, it was good training, good results were obtained against the backdrop of the bay. Even then I felt - the love for a long time ... Kamchatka. It was only the beginning. The next day promised a storm ...

In the morning the weather is good, but we still decided to scout the local resort "Krasnaya Sopka." It was not far off, long lines of about 1,000 m, and elevation of 300 m, served by elevators, and we advance, looked at it from all sides. We got a rental at the opposite side of the mountains and the soft snow, and most importantly not a single trace. Our first victim was a birch. Birch in the harsh cold climate of Kamchatka look exotic. Birch trunk, heavily branched, intricately curved, knotty, and they are obtained, well, very, nice.

After several successful attempts, went on their way, it is curious that it's not all. And then we drove through the forest, the shade of birches began to create the magical images and views of the ocean, over which clouds the picture. We passed the rock, beautiful moss-covered branches of birch and covered with, well, this is for the brave men and Ivan decided that we'll be back here ... but, unfortunately, not today. Wind broke out in earnest, and the lift was closed. The next day, we have prepared a package of new unforgettable impressions.


You always want to get up early to go longer, but it turns out, as usual. However, for dinner we were on "red hill". Today the weather was cloud and sun. The result was the contrast between the dark-blue clouds of black and white, the ocean, shining in the sun, snow. On the reverse side of the mountain from the "cable car" was a ravine, on the one hand, which we rode on the first day, and now we have been interested in the other side, illuminated by the sun against the backdrop of receding storm. The snow was there a more gentle slope and snow from the trees opened, after the descent, we can easily go to the lift on the road.

 Next the slope was much farther to the other side of the lift, after a long traverse of us opened a view over the bay. This slope leads directly to the bus stop, so we stayed there for a long time, it was necessary to find some good places to get good photos. Decided to build a jump over a tree, of course, birch ideal models for photographers. Set in the embrace of the clouds poured out all the colors, here is a picture that you can enjoy life.

This is the beginning and the next day we met at the airport and moved to the DCP base "Snow Valley". Two days "purgovaniya" in Petropavlovsk and the storm went into the mountains, giving us a couple of days riding chic in the city. In the mountains it was snowing ... snow ...
